MEEEEET BECKY!!!!! =D

Hello everyone! It is mwa! So today we are going to talk about BLACK HOLES! You guys probably think of the humungo black thing that sucks in the things close to it. Well there is a lot more to it than people think. I'm here to tell all of you about it so you can act smarticle when you talk about it in class. I'm going to try something different this time, I'm gonna let my friend, Becky, tell you about black holes. She is a black hole, by the way. Here is a picture of her:

isn't she pretty?

Hey guys it's me, Becky. I'm gonna try to do a good job so tell me if I did good at the end. Alrighty then, let's get started! Black holes can be made in 2 ways. One way is that if a large star explodes in a supernova. Sometimes the star remains will collapse in on itself and create a black hole. The other way is if a bunch of chemicals and gases come together they will eventually create matter. The matter will collapse on itself and create a black hole. Then, it will start to get bigger and bigger. Black holes are at least 10-15 times as big as the sun! THAT'S HUGE, RIGHT? Right!

WOAHHHHH!

Now, we're gonna talk about the gravity of black holes. The gravity is something scary. It is so strong because it has a lot of mass. LOTS OF MASS! Did you know that some people in Sci-fi movies go INTO a black hole?! HA! That is really impossible, because if light can't escape from us, than a human DEFINITELY can't. Also, we have this thing that's called the event horizon. This is the place that grabs onto the thing that's near us. When you're in the event horizon, there's no going back. You're doomed! Remember when we were talking about humans and black holes? Do you wanna know what would happen to you guys? Good, cuz I'm gonna tell you. You would be ripped apart into a bunch of tiny particles. Ouch! Anyways, black holes are a true mystery really. The one thing scientists are dying to know is, what is on the other side of a black hole? Well, that's easy! It's.....wait a minute! I'm not telling you anything!

it looks like a CD!

Well, Celine's back now so I have to go. I had a lot of fun!
Hey, it's me Celine again. I hope Becky did a good job! So, now it's the end of my blog. (sniffle, sniffle) To give you a little something fun, here is a cool video. BYE! Science Fun:)

IM WALKING ON SUNSHINE!!!!! WOAH!!!!!

I'm walking on sunshine! WOAH!!!!! Oh, hey guys it be me again. Alright so I'm gonna start right away. Different, right? Well, today we will be talking about the sun! WOAH!!!!! So, you guys probably know that the sun is the star that is right next to us. Well people usually don't know bubkiss about the sun. I'm here to tell you people of the world bouts it. Okidoki then, let's start!
Like all stars, it is a bunch of very hot gasses and stuff. They start out with a bunch of helium atoms. The helium atoms combine and then turn into hydrogen atoms. This is called nuclear fusion. It happens in the core. Speaking of core, I think it would be bestest if I tell you peeps about the layers of the SUN!
 1. Core- This is the very center of the sun. It is the most hotstests part of the sun. Hey, does the "core" sound familiar? Well it should cuz it is the same thing as the Earth. REMEMBERING IS FUN!!!!!
2. Radiation Zone- This is the place were the material is real dense and hot. The sun's radiation and energy goes through the sun. Slowly but surely, I'm acting smarticle! IS GOTS SMARTICLES PARTICLES!!!!!
3.  Convection Zone- This is the place where energy is too light to go through the sun, so it goes in convection. So it goes UP and DOWN. UP and DOWN. UP AND DOOOOOOOOWN! (owie!)
4. Photosphere- Dis layer is de layer that we can SEE! It is also reallllllly hot and stuff. This gives off that yellow-white-type-thingy-ma-bob. Such creative words.
5. Chromosphere- In an eclipse, (no not the Twilight movie) (btw, that movie SUCKS!) (sorry all peeps who <3 those movies) anyways, in an eclipse, you see a red line around the sun, that's the chromospere. The redness is caused by a lot of hydrogen. The website said "abundance." Hee hee. That be a funny word!
6. Corona- Well, this one is the most simple. It is basically the atmosphere of the sun. WELL DAT WUZ ESAY!!!!!
So those are the layers of the sun. I hope you guys enjoyed! Now it's time for the pics. Wow, pictures, videos, AND a good writing! You guys are lucky I giva y'all so much! Until next time, BYE! Science Fun:)

OMG dat be BRIGHT!

Artist concept of the sun's layers
throw your hands up for the layers of the sun!

dat must have huet that dudes hands! LOL!

Sup Stars!!!!!!!!!!!!

S-s-s-stars, stars! S-s-s-stars, stars! Yosif peeps of the planet Earth. Today we are going to talk about...can you guess? (uh.....um.....uh.....is it plants?) No, not even close. (aww, I thought I was gonna get it this time!) (sigh) Well, don't worry we still are gonna learn about something super fun! We are gonna talk about STARS!!!

That's SHINYYYYYYY!

Ooooo shiny! Celine, (yes) get back on topic please. (oh                    sorry!) Well these stars have a unique history. Does anyone  even know how stars are made? No, no you don't but I'm gonna tell you right now. Ok so stars are made in a nebula. This is basically a large cloud of gas and dust. The gases in a nebula are hydrogen gas. Hee hee, nebula is a funny word. Anyways, over time, the cloud gets denser and denser and starts getting warmer and warmer. It then starts to spin. Oo Oo Oo! I'm getting dizzy! (ahhhhh!) (fall) (ow!) The hydrogen gas bump into each other. So, basically the faster they spin, the hotter they get!
Like all peeps they have different stages in life. The first stage is the PROTOSTARS. The second stage is the MAIN SEQUENCE STARS. The third is the RED GIANTS. Finally, we gots the WHITE DWARF. Ok now we are gonna talk about the sun! So bright, bright! Uh, uh! So bright, bright! Uh, uh! Our sun is 4.6 billion years old!!!! I know that seems old, but its really not if you r talking about the solar system. The sun is...wait wait WAIT. If we're gonna talk about the sun, we need to give it a name. Ok, we'll name her......Sunny! There we go. Ok, Sunny is only a middle aged star! Sunny is in the Main Sequence Star stage. Sunny will explode in 4-5 billion years! But, no need to fear, we won't be around...here. There I made a rhyme.  It may not be good, but its still a rhyme.
Ok so now, we have come to the end to my blog. I know, I know its sad but we must go. (wimper, wimper, cry, cry) So I hope you learned a lot. Well here are some awesome pics on space. BYEEE!
Science Fun:)

That's s lot of culurs!

Its like a burst of awesomeness!

Our dear friend Sunny

Razzmatazz!

Weebles wabble wabble, but they don't fall down! Why does this happen? Oh hey your here. Ug. JK! You guys know I love you! So our topic is gravity. DUH DUH DUH!!! So what the shmowzow is it?  Well, gravity is kind of hard to explain. They know what it is, but they can't explain it. But they do have a couple theories.
Sir Isaac Newton had a theory that is still used today. Legend says that he was sitting under an apple tree when an apple fell on his head. Ouchie! Some say that he just SAW the apple fall. But either way an apple fell and he wanted to know how. His theory was that gravity is a force that attracts all objects to one another. So, you may be thinking, "Is that really the only theory? Wow. People just don't care anymore." But do not worry! There are other theories. (I am honestly getting tired of using the word "theories")
Albert Einstein had the idea that mass and disrence were still important in gravity, but time is also very important. Einstien's theory is really hard to understand. A lot of science fiction movies have been made over Einstein's theory. But Newton's theory was very helpful too cuz it helped discover the planet Neptune.
Well that's pretty much what I can tell you about gravity. Again, scientists are still looking for an exact answer. But until then we gotta deal with what we got. I'm gonna leave while you guys are lost in this video. Bye bye my Boosims! Sceince Fun:)

My Trip To Florida!

So hey peeps of the world! I am am back from a....(wait for it).... Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious trip. We went to Florida, or as Kenneth would say: Floda, to see the Shuttle Launch. But, since NASA was being NASA, they moved the date AGAIN! Do you know how many times they moved it? (si-) Six! They moved it six flubbing times! Well we did do a bunch of other stuff. Here let me tell you in a special sort of way:
MONDAY: Today we went to school and then at night we left to Florida in an American Coach Bus.
TUESDAY: We got to the Retreat Center and we checked into our rooms. My roomies were Taylor and Shelby. Roomies Forever! Then we went to the Kennedy Space Center. It was really coolio to see all the space-y type stuff. We also went on a simulator. But that place was expensive! 8 bucks for a hamburger, sorry again Shelby! I did get a cool mug for 6 bucks, awesomeness!  For dinner we went to Pizza Hut and everybody at my table was being economical. Me, Anabel, Lizzy, Kenneth, Aubrey, and Fatima were sitting at the table. After that we went back to the Retreat Center to go to sleep. But we laughed and talked a whole bunch before actually sleeping! Duh! You think I would go to sleep WITHOUT talking first? Wow. Get your head strait people! JK.
WEDNESDAY: We went to the beach and it was sooooooo fun! I saw 5 dead jellyfish. Me, Fatima, and Kenneth went on a shell walk. Kenneth kept saying he hated the ocean so bad things happened to him. Me and Fatima were pretending to talk to Poseidon, God of the Sea in Greek Mythology (that's for you roomies) and every time Kenneth would go near the water, a huge wave would come over his shoes. LOL! After the beach we went back to the Kennedy Space Center to finish up what we didn't see. We had the dinner buffet that night. Really yummy. Then we went to this little grassy area to hang out afterwards. When we went to the rooms we laughed a lot more, then hit the hay. Oh, did I forget to say we went to Coco Beach? Whoops!
THURSDAY: We had to go back home today. (sigh) Well, for breakfast we went to McDonald's. We drove and drove and then we stopped at Wendy's for lunch. Well we got back to Shreiner at like 6:30. I got my stuff and went home. That was my Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious trip. Here is a video of what I was gonna see but then didn't. (uhh....) The Shuttle Launch! Enjoy! Science Fun:)

Earthquakes! (rumble, rumble, RUMBLE!)

Yosif people who are on a computer! OMG guess what? No more blogs about volcanoes! Yay! Now we are going to be talking about earthquakes. So, I'm here on a laptop, and jamming along to my favorite songs. This is my Jamm! One sec. (jamming along, dancing, singing, falling) (ow!) Hey I'm back. Okay back to our topic, earthquakes. So earthquakes are made when two tectonic plates rub together and then cause friction. They happen at plate boundaries. Now, some are more deadly than others. Like they will just happen when you least expect it. Sucks right? Right. California has a lot of them. But here, in good old Georgia, we don't have any. But seriously they can get scary. Man, I'm using "but" a lot. They do have technology like these things called:
Seismograph: a thing that records ground movements
Rector Scale: a scale that measures the magnitude
So now you know a little bit about earthquakes. So to rap it up, I'm going to show y'all a cool video. Because if I said Everything about earthquakes, you would get bored and then skip ahead to the comments. So here's a video so y'all can be happy!

P.S. This is a video that shows the tradedy that happened in Chile. It was terrible. Let us have a moment of sielnce for the peeps that died from this earthquake. Tear:'( Well stay happy! Science Fun:)

Here are some kinds of volcanoes:)

Yo yo my Guchi! You are now on my blog. Congrats!!!! You have officially reached maximum AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So today we are gonna learn about volcanoes. I know, you are probably saying, "Awwwwwwwww man we have to learn about volcanoes AGAIN?!?!?!?!??!?!!??!!?" Well suck it up! JK but this is going to be the last blog about volcanoes. (Finally, I was getting tired of blogging about volcanoes!) Who said that? Anyways..... this blog isn't a question! (Huh?!) Well I'm just going to tell you peeps about different volcanoes. (OH!) Here are the most 5 most popular volcanoes. That means that these guys sit at the cool table. Or should I say, HOT TABLE! Hahahahahah! (chirp, cough) Just read. (grumble, sigh) This doesn't include Mount St.Helens.
Mount Vesuvius in Italy-it's a composit volcano
Mount Fuji in Japan-it's a composite volcano
Kilauea in The Big Island of Hawaii-it's a sheild volcano
Pacaya in Guatemala City-it's a complex volcano
Mt. Bromo in East Java, Indonesia-it's a composit volcano
Now you probably are thinking, "Wow those are big names. Reading is so much work. UG!" Well I just want to say that you are so lazy. JK I love messing with you guys. These volcanoes are pretty coolio. If you want I can show you other volcanoes. (YEAH!) Well alrighty then!

That was amazing! Even if they're incredibly dangerous they are the most beautiful things! And that lava, oo I want to touch it so bad! But if I do my hand would burn off. That would not be fun. That's all for this blog. Bye bye my Guchi! Science Fun:)

Shield,Composite,Cinder Cone!

Hola all my peeps! What goes on? ANYWAYS........ I have these friends. They are volcanoes. One is called Shield, one Composite, and one called Cinder Cone(Cindy for short). They are arguing and I cannot stand it! So I am gonna tell you how they are different and how they are the same. I HOPE YOUR READING THIS GUYS!!!!
Shield Volcano-A shield volcano is a small, circular base, gental sloped volcano. Shield volcanoes have lava filled with basaltic lava(weird word, basaltic) The lava stays flow-y for a long time, it's so pretty to watch!

Composite Volcano-This is a large, steep, and very explosive volcano. It explodes very violently. This is the volcano that goes BOOM!!!!!!!!!!! It builds out of layers of dried up lava.

Cinder Cone- A medium size volcano, that explodes normally, and has mostly gasses coming out. This is the most common kind of volcano.

HOLD ON! My friends just called and said they just made up cuz of my blog! I am awesome! Science Fun:)

Who wants to learn about volcanoes? ME!

OK class, today we are going to talk about volcanoes. Does anyone know anything already? Yes, Chase. (mumble, mumble) No, Chase. Voomy, voomy, Shish, shish, Bleh, bleh isn't a fact. Oh man, I guess I have to tell you all about it. (sigh) So volcanoes are pretty coolio. Volcanoes are basically gaps in Earth's surface. It eventually builds up and becomes a mountain like structure. Except volcanoes have a giant hole at the top. Volcanoes have ash, gases, lava, and even some cooled rock exploding out of it! But some volcanoes are really active and some, not so much. Like Kilauea in Hawaii, It has been releasing gasses and stuff for more than 100 years strait! But this explosion isn't gimungo! It just happens, doesn't really affect anyone. In fact, Hawaii was made by volcanoes. and all of its islands at least have one volcano on it. Another one is Mount St.Helens. This is probably the most popular  volcano. This is a very violent volcano. But the good news is that it doesn't explode regularly. It explodes very little. So that's the stuff you have to know about volcanoes. Wasn't that interesting? (cheering, clapping) I told you! Now, since you've been good, I can show you a video. Science Fun:)

Volcanoes! Oo hot,hot,hot!!!

Hey people who are cool enough to read my blogg. You pwn! Ok so I was wondering why some volcanoes are active and some aren't? Yeah, I think about the wierdest things. My brain is fantabulous! So hear are some factivos: (You should be grateful I'm doing this because there are SO MANY WORDS!!!!!!)
The Earth's first ocean and the atmosphere was formed by volcanoe gases. Volcanoes also helped form Earth's goegraphy. In the Earth it's so hot that the rocks melts into magma. Eventually after a lot of pressure the maga builds up and explodes! It is now lava. If magma is thin and runny it is easier for the gas to leave, but if it's thick and sticky the gas cannot exit easily so it builds up and then it explodes. KABOOM!  Here is some cool pictures of volcanoes. Science Fun:)

I Have A Question!

Ok so I was at home, minding my own business, when sudenly the dude on tv said..... "Hey do you know why glacial stuff aren't found on Africa?" And I was like..... no.  So then I was wondering why and I am going to find out and tell you about it. Well, not really. I was bored and there wasn't anything on tv and yeah. Okidoke. First let me find some info. (dududududududu) Ok so I found that glacial stuff is often formed at high latitudes near the poles. So basicly If it's cold and high up, there will be glacial stuff. Ok un momento por favor. (dudududududududu) Um I tried to look up something but there were TOO many words, so i'm going to use common sense. Basicly, Africa is in between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer. So it gets direct sunlight. Plus it has low elevation. Here is a video of Africa.

That was a cool video. And now you know how Africa looks. It has a lot of plant, animal, and human life. But Antarctica is very cold so it can't support much life. So now you know about that stuff. And guess what? My favorite show is on. I'm not bored! But that was fun, too. Gotta go. Science Fun:)

MOUNTAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alrighty then who wants to learn about mountain? (chirp, chirp) Anybody? Seriosly! (sigh) Well we are going to learn about them today. Mountains are awesome. But they don't look like a giant point like we used to draw them when we were young ones. (giggle) So I know if I just TELL you about it you wont care, YES YOU WOULD! STOP LYING! Here just watch this. (grumble, grumble)

Ok that was a pretty cool video. That was a video of a bunch of people trying to climb Mt.Everest. That is the tallest mountain in the world. Mountains are formed when two continental plates push together and make a  mountain. But it takes a very long time. It takes like a billion years! Oh my god! I know. Mt.Everest formed when India came and pushed into Asia. Mt.Everest grows an inch every year. Some people say that in a couple million years India will not exist. But that's in a super long time. So now I hope you now what are mountains. And now you don't think it's boring, right? (chirp, chirp) (sigh) Science Fun:)

Earthquakes!(rumble rumble)

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh no! The Earth is moving! What is going on? Are we all going to die? Why wont someone answer me? No we are not going to die, and yes the Earth is moving. But its not crazy. It's normal. The Earth moves all the time! Duh! Alrighty then, what is going on is that there is an earthquake. An earthquake is when two tectonic plates rub together and make a shaking feeling. You might be wondering, "What the flubb  are tectonic plates?" Well I'm going to tell you. Jeez, be patient. Ok tectonic plates are large, thin and rigid plates that move each other on the outer surface of the Earth. You know, a LONG time ago all the continents were one. It was called Pangea. Isn't that a cool word? I know right! Well now you know a little about earthquakes. And now you wont freak out the next time there's an earthquake. Oh man, now I've got this song in my head. Oh well! Science Fun:)
(Awwwwwwwww freak out! dududududu dududududu. Freak out!)

INVENTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey this is my first blogg ever. Ok so today I'm going to be talking about inventions. Inventions are awesome. But I like some more than others. I mean we all have favorites, right? So ok my absolute favorite invention is air conditioning! Without it I would die! We get so hot in the summer it's impossible to live without it. Like earlier this week in the classes at school, the air conditioning wasn't working! Everyone was going to pass out! But then they got it fixed. But my teacher said that we take advantage of the air conditioning. And i kind of have to agree. But here are some fun facts about air conditioning:
So the very first air conditioning system was made by Dr.John Gorrie. The first modern air conditioning system was made by an American engineer Willis Carrier. The first home air conditioning was in the home of Charles Gates. Air conditions have been said to be one of the problems affecting Global Warming.
Well I hope that's not true! Because I cannot live without air conditioning! Well that's all for this blogg entrie. Science Fun:)
